FROM DUST TO DESTINY

What if the very thing that was meant to break you was actually God's way of building you?

There comes a moment in life when you look back at where you started and stand in awe of how far God has brought you. For me, this is that moment. I truly believe that this is my season, not because life suddenly became easy, but because God is at work in my life. My journey has been one of transformation, from dust to destiny, from brokenness to purpose, from pain to promise.

The beauty of God's creation story is that He formed us from dust, yet He never intended for us to remain there. He created each of us with a purpose, a mission, and a divine destiny. Looking back on my life, I can now see that every valley, every tear, every setback, and every battle was part of a greater story that God was writing.

There was a time when I found myself in one of the darkest seasons of my life. A season marked by heartbreak, rejection, humiliation, and loneliness. The collapse of my marriage left wounds so deep that I thought they would never heal. I gave my all to a relationship. I was loyal, devoted, and committed, yet I found myself walking through the painful reality of divorce.

The woman I once knew slowly disappeared beneath the weight of emotional pain. I cried countless tears. I questioned my worth. I felt abandoned and misunderstood. Negative labels were thrown at me, accusations made against me, and judgments passed over my life. The hurt became so overwhelming that I began to carry anger and bitterness in my heart. I wanted answers. I wanted justice. At times, I even wanted revenge.

In those moments, I found myself asking God difficult questions.

"Why is this happening to me?"

"Why are You silent?"

"Why aren't You fighting for me?"

And His silence felt deafening.

It was the kind of silence that makes you wonder if Heaven hears your cries at all. Yet what I did not understand then was that God's silence does not mean His absence. Even when I couldn't hear Him, He was still working behind the scenes. Even when I felt abandoned, He was carrying me through the storm.

God, in His mercy, sent people into my life at exactly the right moment. One day, while praying, a friend shared a powerful truth with me: God cannot bless prayers rooted in anger and bitterness. That conversation changed everything.

I was reminded of the words found in 2 Chronicles 20:15:

"The battle is not yours, but God's."

Suddenly, I realized I had been trying to fight battles that were never mine to fight. I had been carrying burdens that God never intended me to carry. I was exhausted because I was trying to do what only God could do.

That day, I learned one of the greatest lessons of my life: surrender is not weakness. Surrender is strength. Surrender is trusting God enough to release the pain, the disappointment, and the desire for revenge into His hands. It is saying, "God, I have done all I can do. The rest belongs to You."

The journey of forgiveness was neither easy nor instant. Before I could forgive others, I first had to forgive myself. I had to forgive myself for allowing pain to change me. I had to forgive myself for carrying resentment. I had to forgive myself for believing the lies spoken over my life.

As I surrendered, God began restoring what heartbreak had stolen.

Piece by piece, He healed me.

Prayer by prayer, He strengthened me.

Step by step, He led me back to myself.

Today, when I look in the mirror, I see a woman who has risen from the dust. A woman who refused to stay broken. A woman who chose faith when giving up seemed easier. A woman who survived the storm and came out stronger on the other side.

I survived heartbreak.

I endured divorce.

I wiped away countless tears.

I fought battles no one knew about.

And still, I rose.

I lost love, but I found myself.

I experienced divorce, but I discovered purpose.

I faced heartbreak, but I gained strength.

What was meant to break me became the foundation upon which God rebuilt me.

The greatest evidence of God's faithfulness is that my pain did not become my prison. Instead, it became my testimony. The story that once brought me shame became the story that now brings healing and hope to others. My journey gave birth to purpose, and my purpose gave birth to my book, Why Not Me? Journey to Purpose.

Today, I stand as a living testimony that God restores. He redeems. He heals. He transforms.

The woman who once cried herself to sleep is now helping others find hope. The woman who once questioned her worth now knows her value. The woman who once felt forgotten now walks confidently in her God-given purpose.

This is my story of moving from dust to destiny.

Not because I was strong enough on my own.

Not because life was easy.

But because God's grace carried me when I could not carry myself.

And if there is one thing I know for certain, it is this: the same God who lifted me from the dust is the same God who is able to turn every setback into a setup, every scar into a testimony, and every broken piece into something beautiful.

I was tested, but I was never defeated.

I was broken, but I was never destroyed.

I was delayed, but I was never denied.

And now, as I walk boldly into my destiny, I can confidently declare that every tear, every battle, and every painful chapter was worth it because God was writing a greater story all along.

From dust to destiny, this is not just my journey. It is proof that God can take the most broken pieces of a life and turn them into a masterpiece for His glory.❤️πŸ™πŸ½
